As a master herbalist, I have used several methods of easing anxiety, and not just on humans. In fact, the first “patient” was a horse. She had gotten over a bad patch of colic and was still upset, so we harvested lavender stems and flowers, spread them around her stall and watched her calm down. Aromatherapy: To a degree that is what we used. We rubbed the lavender to release the oil and allowed the scent soothe her. It’s a lot easier to use the oils, as finding a lavender plant sufficiently large and in bloom may be difficult.
