Changing Seasons, Changing Moods? For some people, the changing of the seasons means the changing of moods, with depression settling in on them around the beginning of winter. This can be a major trauma for those already suffering from depression, and for those who are normally not effected by depression, the change in season can bring sadness and loss of energy.   Ten to twenty percent of adult Americans suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder, or SAD, according to the American Academy of Family Physicians.
