Depression and child obesity – is there an association? A new study says “yes” and experts are hoping that treating depression early could help obese children get on track for losing those excess pounds. Researchers at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center examined a group of 111 adolescent children for symptoms of depression using a special questionnaire and assessment tool. They followed up by assessing their levels of obesity and measuring levels of a hormone called cortisol after subjecting them to various stressors such as doing math equations in their head. What
