Older adults suffer from anxiety disorders in increasing numbers. As the population ages the incidence of Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) is likely to increase the human and economic toll on people and on the health care system. Preliminary research suggests that use of an SSRI drug called escitalopram can provide improvement for older people with GAD.
